Wirral Golf Classic – a 54 hole Single Stableford competition for amateurs, will be played over Caldy, Heswall and Wallasey golf courses, over the period 13th-15th September 2026.
Age – Players must be 18 years and older.
Handicap – The maximum permitted course handicap index for competitors is 24 for men and 36 for ladies. A handicap allowance of 95% will then be used to calculate playing handicap . All must be members of a recognised golf club, or affiliated to their country’s governing body, and must present a current & active handicap certificate from their club on arrival (in accordance with World Handicapping System).
Format – The main competition is an aggregate Stableford over the 3 days with prizes for the top 5 Men and top 5 Ladies. There will also be a Scratch competition over the 3 days, along with a team and vets competition. We will also be having daily competitions and on course nearest the pins. Regarding the team competition – Each player must enter individually but a team can be nominated at the time of entry or at a later date. All the above competitions are included in the entry price
Entry fees – £385 per person. We require a £25pp non refundable reservation fee to reserve your spot with full payment due 31st March 2026
Cancellations – made by 1 May 2026 will be given a full refund; by 31 July 2026 will be given a 50% refund, and after this date no refund can be given. All refunds will be less the £25pp reservation fee
Prizes – We understand that people travel far and wide to play in this event. And whilst we would love to give you the prizes personally we will post prizes to your home address, if required.
Motorised buggies – are permitted for use by those who have a medical certificate stipulating the need for a buggy. NB They are not available to hire at all WGC courses. For further clarification please contact the Event Organisers.
Should insufficient numbers enter the Wirral Golf Classic, entrants will be notified in writing and the entry fee refunded
