Conwy Course Review

Situated just off the A55 , and right on the beach this really is one of my favourite links courses. The conwy harbor is just 1 mile away so there is a constant flurry of sailing vessels back and forth, always a great distraction! Breathtaking views not just out to sea though, a hillside to the south that is fabulous and ever changing with various light.

The course is superb, fairway bunkers are a major feature from most tee shots and of course the sea breeze always makes it a challenge. The par 3 holes are all great, in different directions so all change depending on the wind, the 2nd can play a wedge one day to a 4 iron the next, I love links golf for that very feature.

There are several stand out holes, the closing 3 are really tough, no fairway bunkers on any but lots of gorse! A beautiful sight bright and yellow, until that is your ball is there amongst it!

My favourite though would be either the par 3 15th, or the par 4 7th this along side the coast with a terrific gathering type of entrance to the green. Typical of many links approach shots, run it, bump it or go the ariel route. I could go on as the par 5 14th is brilliant too.

All in all a fabulous place to play, the hospitality is as good too. Andrew Blake the head pro who took over from Peter Lees in November 2013, welcomes everyone in such a unique way, so warm and Lisa runs an equally fab set up in the bar!

What more can you ask. Try it, you will not be disappointed!
